Halloween lands on a Saturday this year, so the whole weekend turns into one long party. Churches and schools host trunk-or-treats and neighbors close a street for a block party. An inflatable bounce house rental gives the night a second act once the candy is gone. Here's how to plan it.

Inflatable castle with a slide set up on grass

Trunk-or-treat basics

A trunk-or-treat swaps walking door to door for a lot full of decorated cars. It is safer, easier for little kids and simpler for parents.

  • Sign up cars ahead of time. You'll know how many spots to block off.
  • Park in one big loop. Kids walk one way past every trunk.
  • No engines on during the event. Put cones at both ends of the lot.
  • Give a prize for the best trunk. The decorations get much better.

Why add an inflatable bounce house rental

Candy goes fast. Once the bags are full, kids still have energy and parents still want to talk. An inflatable bounce house rental gives everyone a reason to stay.

Set it up at the far end of the lot, away from the cars. Grass is best if you have it. Put a volunteer at the entrance the whole time. If you expect a big crowd, a combo with a slide moves kids through faster.

Block party logistics

Closing a street? Sort these out early.

  • Check with your city or HOA about permits.
  • Find your power. The blower runs the whole time the inflatable is up. If the nearest outlet is far away, ask about a generator.
  • Seat the grown-ups. A few tables in the street turn a walk-through into a gathering.

Día de los Muertos the same weekend

Halloween weekend runs right into Día de los Muertos on November 1 and 2. Many San Antonio families celebrate both. If your gathering honors loved ones, keep the bounce house away from the ofrenda. Give older relatives comfortable seats near the food.

Book early

Late October is the busiest stretch of our year. If you have a date in mind, claim it now. Friday and Saturday go first.

Whether it's a church lot, a cul-de-sac or a backyard, Halloween weekend events need the same things: a clear walking route, something to do after the candy runs out and seats for the adults. Check your date and we'll deliver, set up and take it all down.

Everything we deliver is on our San Antonio bounce house rentals home page. Planning something bigger? Our sister companies can round out the day: frozen drink machine rentals from SATX Ritas Rentals, video game trailer rentals from SATX Noobs, and the party rental software behind every booking, PartyPad.
